Karen was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on August 6, 1957, to the late Betty Ruth Dawkins (Brannon) and Arnold Paul Dawkins. She was a graduate of the class of 1975 from Mountain Home High School and continued her education at UCA in Conway, AR. Karen had a successful career in hospitality industry and was especially proud of her time spent in war ravaged Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom rebuilding bases and water facilities. Always one to help others, she never hesitated when she felt the need to go overseas to help those far less fortunate.
In addition to helping others Karen’s other passions were fishing, camping, spontaneous adventures, and a good prank or joke. She cherished and thoroughly enjoyed her time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she loved nothing more than to build a fort in the living room or in her beloved van, Linny, and have an adventure with her grandbabies. She showered those she loved most with her intense love every chance she got. She truly was the most loving mother, grandmother, spouse, sister, aunt, niece and friend.
Karen leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, daughter, Amanda Stevens of Salem, AR; son, Logan (Kristi) Grant of Elizabeth, AR; Life Partner, Robert Luttrell of Marble Falls, TX; Dan (Brandi) Luttrell of San Antonio, TX. Her grandchildren who brought an incredible amount of joy to her life. They are Madison Campbell, Devin Grant, Reid Grant, and Makenzie Luttrell. Her brothers whom she loved dearly, James Brannon of Benton, AR; Joe (Tanya) Brannon of Huntington, SC, Michael (RuthAnn) Brannon of Stillwater, OK; Richard (Randi) Brannon of Bellingham, WA, and Uncle, Roger (Val) Hightower of Conway, AR and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a world full of friends.
Along with her parents, listed above, Karen was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Gracyn; sister, Laura; and brother, Paul.
A memorial service will be held at the pavilion at Fairview Cemetery, Flippin, Arkansas, on Saturday, September 23 at 1pm with a burial to follow.
