Joan Eveline Cox

Joan is preceded in death by her son, John Cox, Jr., her son, Steven Cox and granddaughter Jennifer Cox.

Joan transferred from Belton High School to Marble Falls High School as Secretary to the Principal in 1984. After many years of enjoyable service, she retired from the school system in 1998. She always said she worked harder after retirement, transforming her yard into a paradise of flowers, rocks of every size and several unusual tree stumps.

Joan was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family and a friend for life to her many co-workers and those she knew. However, her greatest joy was dancing. You could find her at Ed's River Palace every Saturday night where she eventually met the love of her life, Henry, 35 years ago. They have traveled the country hitting every venue they could since then, winning awards and appearing on Molly B Polka to the point of becoming celebrities, and being recognized by other polka followers. Joan loved to dance!

Joan is survived by her friend and partner, Henry Hohenberger of Marble Falls, Texas, her daughter Tricia Wilson and husband Tim Wilson of Spokane Valley, Washington, her daughter Theresa Sivells and husband Hardy Sivells of Marble Falls, Texas, her grandchildren Cory Wade and wife Esmeralda Wade, Heather Wade and husband Hoss Gonzales, Shiloh Ribera and wife Emily Ribera, Jacquelyn Carillo and husband Michael Carillo, Joseph Cox, James Cox and wife Michelle Cox, Jeremy Cox and wife Lani Gil and Jordon Cox; her great grandchildren Jaden Carillo, Jaxon Carillo, Reign Ribera, Luke Cox and CJ Wade and a host of family and friends.

Joan said for years she did not want a funeral so please celebrate her with every dance.
