Jeanette was born on Mother's Day, 6 May 1951 to Cleo “Brownie” and Leoti M. Blake Smith in Lampasas, TX. She attended the Lampasas schools and her senior year in high school was spent in Greely, CO graduating from Greely High School in 1969 but she always claimed the Lampasas High School Class of 69.
In 1971 Jeanette met her husband of 52 years Bruce at the Fort Hood Mini Dome and they were married in February 1972. She accompanied her husband on his tour to Germany in 1976 and returned to Lampasas in 1979. Jeanette was highly interested in the history of Lampasas and was the administrator of the Facebook group Remember in Lampasas. She was owner/operator of a child day care, former manager of Mott’s Lampasas department store, secretary at the Texas Department of Health and Human Services and photo tech at Walgreen’s. She played in many of the plays put on by the Lampasas Community Theatre group in the 1980's.
She was predeceased by her parents Brownie Smith and Leoti Flanagan, and brothers George and Jimmie. She is survived by her husband Bruce, sons Jeremy (Christine), and Joe (Kasey), 6 grandchildren Meaghan Richardson, Brandi Decker (Jimmy), Catie Galindo (Jeff), Brooklyn Dressell, Lorelai Dressell, and Noah Augustus Schwartzer and 2 great grandchildren Dean Decker and Nathaniel Jeremy Galindo and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the loving and professional care provided to Jeanette by the employees of Enhabit Hospice in Marble Falls.
