Our family is heartbroken for you and have been praying continually for your family.   Our memories of Jacob at Faith Academy were one of a young man who lived life with joy and adventure.   I remember teaching him in 4th grade where I assigned a family history project.  He was so excited to share about his little brother, Clay, who had passed when he was very young.  His love for his brother and the care he had for him were so evident in his sharing of his life.  I saw a gentle side of him through that project.  We also remember Jacob on the football field.  He played with such passion and love for the game and his teammates.   We thank the Lord we got a chance to know Jacob for the time he was at Faith Academy. 
We love your family. Please know we will continue to pray for you all.

This picture is from 12/2022 at Sam’s graduation dinner. Jacob took the time to come celebrate with us. We had the best time. Jacob was such a great  friend to Sam in good times and in not so good times. 
12/24/2019 Covid was just starting and honestly we were all terrified!  We were on our way to the hill country and Sam  called to tell us he had Covid!!! . I immediately told Sam I’ll come get you,  bring you back to Dallas and take  care of you!!! 
Sam says “ no mom Jacob said  I could just stay here with him we will be Ok !! I thought no way !! Jacob can’t get Covid !!! But Jacob insisted it was totally ok !!   So they spent the next several days over the Christmas holidays in quarantine 
Playing video games !! 

We Will never forget Jacob  letting Sam  stay so we wouldn’t get exposed and Sam wouldn’t have to spend Christmas alone.❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹
That’s just who Jacob was !! Fearless, kind and thoughtful!!

You had my heart from the first moment I saw you come in to the world! Practically perfect in every way.  

You not being here has left the biggest crack in my heart. But there is a peace in my heart knowing you’re in heaven with our Jesus, your brother Clay, OPA and all the many others!! 

Your life and legacy is beautiful.  I am beyond proud.  I am grateful and thankful I have the privilege to be called  your aunt!

I believe this was the day Jacob convinced Julene (his mom) and Shawna (his aunt) that all of cousins should go watch the movie “21 Jump Street (2012).”  Jake knew the movie was inappropriate, but now looking back I am glad we all have that memory.

Jacob has a way of making people believe in his words. He was hilarious and a funny person.

Have had many wonderful memories with Jake. He was my best friend, my cousin, and someone I admire. He was like an older brother, and I was his sister. I know he is up in heaven and happy.

Our earthly world selfishly got a little dimmer the day this fine man gained his wings in heaven!   The flip side is for eternity in the Heavens above got a lot brighter…   It’s not our job to understand why God  chooses certain people  to leave us before we feel it’s time, but what helps me get through is that he has bigger plans for them by his side and he feels they’ve concluded their work here on earth.   I know personally Jake impacted my kids and I lives in a way God is proud of, and for that I thank you Jake!  Rest Easy My friend!

Jacob was the 3rd employee at Pando Telecom. He was a young boy at that time, learning his way in the professional world. He quickly adapted to adult life and became one of Pando's hardest working team members. Jacob was frequently on airplanes and working nights. He was a major contributor to our success over the last 3.5 years. He and I took a tour of the National Mall while working in DC. This day was frigid but we managed to see the sights, have a few laughs and made some time to decompress from the night work.

Jacob was an all around great guy and will be deeply missed and remembered. My Deepest sympathies to Todd, Julene, Morgan, Nick and the entire Metcalf family.

There was a reason we liked Jacob’s football jersey #2. (please see video: https://vimeo.com/394235074 to find out why). This is a most sacred and holy time of year.  Today is Palm Sunday, tomorrow is our 29th wedding anniversary, and next Sunday is Easter. It is also the Festival of Purim.  "For such at time as this," I am so thankful and honored that I was chosen by the LORD to get to be Jacob’s mom.  I am (and always was) in his corner and on his side and am pleased with the man he became.  This side of heaven, we won’t know all the things he did for so many people.  
On one of his social pages, he used to have the words, “humble yourself or be humbled.”  There are many times we don’t realize at the time how strong we are becoming by going through difficult circumstances of this earthly life.  But I have NO DOUBTS that I WILL see my boy someday and it will be FOREVER!  Amen!  Thanks to everyone for the tremendous outpouring of love, kindness and support.  It has been overwhelming!!  Although we are broken, it is bittersweet, because we are also so very thankful!  Love wins in the end!

Our Pando get-togethers will never be the same without you, Jacob. You always brought joy into a room. You had true goodness within you. You were so talented and driven. You will be greatly missed.

My life has forever been changed because of our friendship with Jacob. I feel blessed that he shared his family with us. The sorrow I feel cannot be put into words. During the 2024 Fun Run Team Chris will walk in Jacob's memory.

The bond Chris and Jacob had was so special. Chris is heartbroken over this loss but will forever hold Jacob in his heart.

Jacob made his mark on this world in a short period of time and was a positive influence on anyone who knew him. He gave his best for his teachers and coaches, and, no one can ask for more.  His smile was worth a million bucks and he will always be a source of inspiration and pride for his friends, family  and all who knew him.  He will be missed by so many!

Metcalf got to McMurry the same year as me. He was a great teammate and a great friend during our time playing together. This video is him catching my first collegiate touchdown, which was also his first collegiate reception. I will never forget the memories we have! My deepest condolences to his family, I pray that God places his hands on you and helps you with the grieving process.

Love you Meatloaf. Man it was great getting to coach you and watch you develop at McMurry. I have this picture hanging in my office and I will never forget you my boy. Praying for the Metcalf family and sending our love from McMurry.

Our hearts are heavy with Jake’s passing.  He leaves a space in our family that will never be filled.  Jake was such a kind and caring person full of energy and adventure.  The beautiful memories will lift our hearts.

We will miss you buddy, you were always the person I could count on to be there.  I will hold every memory we shared till the end of time.

In my time knowing Jake, I got to spend some fun times with him and his father, Todd. All three of us shared the same passion when it came to work and play. When it came to work, we all worked and knew many people in the same or adjacent industries. When it came to play, we all loved bikes, moto, and music! Something special I got to experience and share with him and his father. Some of the best times were sitting down to have a beer and some grub after a ride. Talking about sports, bikes, well, really anything with him. It was easy to notice that under that hardcore athlete was a caring and genuine young man, which resonated through his words and actions, as well as being raised by great parents and growing up with loving siblings. I am going to miss our rides, beers, and convos, bro. You will be deeply missed, my friend! Rock on, Jake!!

Jake had the most incredible spirit and will be missed by all of us forever. We feel  grateful to have met him. The loss of a child is a pain that no words or actions can heal. Jake's touched so many lives and will continue to shine in everyone’s memories. Please know that we are here to support you in any way we can.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jacob for the past three years, both as a beloved and committed teammate, as well as an exemplary friend after my transfer to another university. Though our time as teammates was short, the lasting friendship that prevailed with Jacob was unique given our schedules, but it never faltered and we continued to remain in touch by playing Rocket League, Call of Duty, or even just talking to each other over the phone whenever we had the time. He will forever be known in my mind as a strong-minded, bright, and successful father with great ambitions, and some of the greatest advice to receive when it's needed most. I express my deepest condolences to his family, and I will continue to pray for comfort over you all during this turbulent time as Jacob joins our Heavenly Father.

It hit me like a truck when I heard the news about Jacob’s passing.  He’s a great person to be around with, and I will always remember him for his time at Concordia and our esports program.  He was always willing to help and step up when we needed him.  I am praying for comfort and strength for your family as you go through this storm.

I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time with Jake in Fort Worth touring homes before he  settled on a home in San Antonio. I am so thankful for that time we had together. Todd, Juley, Morgan and Nick - my deepest condolences. I love you all very much.

I only had the privilege of knowing and being friends with Jacob for the past three years, but as soon as I met him I knew what a great guy he was. Our communication as friends was not very consistent after our time together at Concordia, but every couple of months we would get in touch and play some rocket league. Even though we might not have spoken in months, it was never awkward, it was as if we just picked up where we had left off. Any time I spoke with Jacob he was always in a good mood. He was a very enjoyable person to be around even if it was just virtually. It wasn’t until recently we actually started to play video games together again, as he reached out to me and a mutual friend. The three of us played rocket league for the Concordia Esports teams. We actually had just played rocket league last weekend and he informed us that he had a wedding to attend and when he got back he would let us know so we could play some more video games. Sadly we didn’t hear back from him to play more video games together. I am deeply saddened by the loss of this kind soul. Though it was for a brief period of time, I enjoyed knowing Jacob and I am proud to have been able to call him my friend. Jacob has left a life lasting positive impact on my life. My thought and prayers are with his family during these tough times.

Todd & Julene - I am so deeply saddened to hear about Jacob.  I will always cherish all the memories of Jacob, Chris and the crew.  It was truly a pleasure to have him in our lives.
