Elida Galindo passed away peacefully at her house in Horseshoe Bay on October 30, 2023.
Elida is survived by her sister, Elidia Flynn of Horseshoe Bay, her brothers Sal Galindo and wife Mariaelena of Houston, TX, Frank Galindo and wife Gloria of Las Cruces, New Mexico, David Galindo of Odessa, TX, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Ciriaco and Juliana Galindo, her brothers, Roman Galindo and Abel Galindo, and her sister Mary Valenzeula.
Elida was born on October 16, 1951 in Fort Stockton, TX. to Ciriaco and Juliana Galindo. Elida graduated from Kermit High School in 1970 and went to Sul Ross University.
Elida had a rough start, she developed polio at 10 months old and never recovered the use of one of her legs. Living life using crutches. Because of this she developed a love for reading, it’s what she did while others were out playing. She shared her passion and her books with anyone, turning her niece onto one of her favorite authors. She loved to travel, and took many trips all over the world. She went on countless cruises with friends, family, or her significant relationships. She also loved jewelry, clothes, shoes, and art. Everywhere she traveled she made sure to come home with many of these items.
Please help us celebrate this wonderful lady that touched many lives. There is a Mass scheduled for Saturday, November 18th, 2023, at 10 am at St. Paul the Apostle Church In Horseshoe Bay with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Elida’s life.
