Lieutenant Colonel Edward Earl Evans, USAF, Retired, died after a long and fulfilling 85 years of life, on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi to Judson Alvin and Nannie Parton Evans on January 30, 1934.
Ed proudly served in the United States Air Force, serving his country for 16 years. During his time of service, he was a pilot, having served in the Korean War. His family will lovingly remember him as a very determined and hard-working man, and could do anything he put his mind to.
Ed enjoyed serving his community and was even recognized for volunteering over 2,000 hours at Baylor, Scott and White Hospital in Marble Falls. Ed accomplished and did so many things during his amazing life. He enjoyed traveling and RV’ing with his wife and their camping group, but his biggest accomplishments included his family.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents Judson Alvin and Nannie Evans.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Francine Evans; son Edward Eugene Evans; daughter Nancy Ann Jones and (h) Wayne Jones; son Allen Wayne Evans; stepchildren Priscilla and (h) Bubba Smith, Malynda and (h) Allen Clanton, Lisa and (h) Mark Nowlin, Angelia and (h) Kenneth Talas, Earl Hardin and Dallas Hardin. As well as 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
A graveside service with Full Military Honors and memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Sardis Cemetery in Rotan, TX.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Salvation Army.
