Donna graduated from Marble Falls High School in 1962 and the same year was married to Ray Coe. She was engaged in different endeavors throughout her life; as a beautician, real estate agent, and in various businesses in Marble Falls with her husband. Donna was a founding member and later assistant director of the Marble Falls Crisis Center and was also involved in the local prison ministry.
Donna very much loved the outdoors and enjoyed activities such as tennis, hunting, and fishing. She enjoyed being involved in the church and community.
Donna is survived by her husband Ray; sons and daughters-in-law Lane and Ingrid Coe of Austin and Preston and Anita Coe of Budapest, Hungary. Also surviving is her daughter Holly Groth of Kingsland and grandson Dylan Thielepape and fiance’ Emily Taylor of Marble Falls. Donna is also survived by her sister-in-law Jane Smith of Cherokee. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenneth Smith.
The family would like to extend a Special thank you to Dr. Jack Franklin and to his nurses who went above and beyond to offer the outstanding care she received. Also thanks to Scott and White Hospice and their nurses Charla, Jean, and aide Tracy, and to Kendal Respite Care at Fellowship Baptist Church. Of course the family could not have done any of this without the exemplary work of Donna’s caregivers Linda Richter and Rhonda Banta.
The memorial service for Donna will be held at 2pm Saturday, September 10, 2016, at the Clements-Wilcox Chapel with Reverend Jackie English officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Richland Cemetery near Marble Falls.
In lieu of usual remembrances memorial contributions should be made to the Marble Falls Family Crisis Center, Alzheimer’s Association, or to your favorite charity or organization.
