Davie Boultinghouse, age 85, of Brownwood, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Davie was born in Oatmeal, Texas on February 2, 1938 to Clyde and Hazel Boultinghouse. Davie was the youngest of three children, having one brother and one sister.
Davie attended Round Rock High School where he met his future wife, Frances Skoog. They married June 14, 1958, and had two children, Debra and Chris.
Davie was an artist, but not in the traditional sense. His artistic skills were displayed in the custom knives and muzzle loading rifles he built, starting as a teenager. Over the years his knives became highly sought after by collectors and sportsmen alike, and his rifles were well known as both beautiful and functional and won their share of trophies at shooting matches nationwide. When Davie wasn’t busy making knives and guns, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Davie also enjoyed bluegrass music and was quite adept with the Dobro guitar.
Davie was preceded in death by his wife Frances, and his brother and sister, Ray and Doris.
He is survived by his daughter Debra Cole and husband Kyle, son Chris and wife Liz, grandchildren Courtney, Krystal, and Kristin, and great-grandchildren Rhett, Tucker, and Wyatt.
