Billie Aileen Parker Miller, 87, of Marble Falls, Texas, passed away Monday October 3rd, 2016. She was born November 27th, 1928 in Handley, Texas to Billie B. and Minnie Mae (Brandon) Parker. Her family moved to Canadian, Texas where her father was night clerk at the Santa Fe Reading Room from 1941 to 1947. While in Canadian, she attended Canadian Schools with the class of 1947. She worked at the "Hemphill County News" where she met the love of her life Reuel Bert Miller who preceded her in death on April 15, 1997. She married Reuel on November 12, 1946. They moved to Holdrege, Nebraska where their daughter Linda Darlene was born. They moved to Marble Falls, Texas in 1963 and opened "Aileen's" dress shop. She was a partner in "The Colonial Beauty Shop" and later operated "Aileen's Styling Salon" both in Marble Falls. She loved her work and was dedicated to her family. Her home was always open to friends and relatives who needed a place to go and was a favorite "vacation spot" for her nieces and nephews, some of whom she helped raise. She had a great sense of humor, a beautiful laugh and will be remembered for her love for both people and animals. She attended art school and enjoyed photography, country music and traveling.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Vic Velicka of Marble Falls, her sister Delores "Dolly" Key, of Ft. Worth, two nephews Joel Key and Michael Carter of Ft. Worth, three nieces Mary Helen Scarbrough of Amarillo, Margaret Mahan of Mineral Wells and Colette Valles of Canadian, numerous great-nieces and nephews and her faithful canine companion, Bailey. Two nieces and a nephew preceded her in death: Rose Marie Bentley, Nadyne Smith and Bert Edward Miller.
