William "Bill" Reamsnider, 81, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, at Mansfield Memorial Homes. He was born June 22, 1936, in Butler, Ohio, to the late Fred Sr. and Catherine (Gaul) Reamsnider, and lived in the Mansfield area his entire life.
Hardworking and skilled, his work as a finish carpenter is evident in the craftsmanship of many houses in the area. Bill retired from the Countertop Shop after several years of service and worked at many area businesses prior to retirement. Quiet and laid back, Bill was a private person who loved his family deeply. He enjoyed attending services and activities at his church until his health no longer allowed him to participate. Bill's sweet tooth was satisfied with his favorite drink, chocolate milkshakes. In his free time, he enjoyed watching dirt track racing and being with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Terry (Tammy) Reamsnider and Chuck (Kathy) Reamsnider; grandchildren, Greg (Breanne) Reamsnider, Kenny Reamsnider, Jason (Jeni) Reamsnider, Heather (Justin) Sheeter, and Amanda Reamsnider (Jake Bays); and twelve great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Ava, Sylvie, Noa, Jericho, Lantana, Owen, Kailyn, Reagan, Carson, Jensen, and Leona. Bill is also survived by two brothers, Fred (Sharon) Reamsnider, Jr., Dick (Joyce) Reamsnider; two sisters, Martha Riter and Esther Turner; a sister-in-law, Lois Reamsnider; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Squeakers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Reamsnider; and brothers, Ed and Robert Reamsnider.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with additional visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Bill's brother, Pastor Fred Reamsnider will conduct the service. He will be laid to rest in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Butler, Ohio, at a later date.
