Twila Eileen Hill

Twila Miller Herron Hill, 87, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017, at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born November 7, 1929, in Coshocton, Ohio, to the late Clarence E. Miller and Gertrude E. Sauerbrey Miller.

Twila graduated from Ashland High School in 1947. She met and married William Herron in Ashland in 1949, and he passed away in 1981. She was employed for 15 years by the Clyde-Green Springs Public School District as a cafeteria cashier and cook. Twila was also a Welcome Wagon hostess in Clyde for ten years. She was a longtime member of Richland Road Church of Christ in Marion, Ohio, and current member of Ashland Church of Christ.

Twila is survived by her husband, John Hill; a son, David William (Laurie) Herron of Redford, MI; a daughter, Ann Marie (Dana) Gillfillan of Alpharetta, GA; two grandchildren, Adam Gillfillan and Ashley Gillfillan; a sister, Janice (Bud) Strine of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by five step daughters, Vickie (Ron) Longwell of Sardis, OH, Christine (Eric) Dennison of Bucyrus, OH, Donna Jean (Keith) Rogers of Mt. Gilead, OH, Barbara Moore of Mt. Gilead, OH, and Carol (Roger) Mumford of Tallahassee, FL; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her first husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene (Dee) Miller.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2017, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue. The funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Ashland Church of Christ, 1185 County Road 1356, with Minister Russell Howard officiating. Additional visitation will be held at the church on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
