Susan Burns, age 60, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 24, 2012 at Oak Grove Manor following a long battle with breast cancer. She was born May 15, 1952 in Crestline, Ohio to the late Charles and Phyllis (Paynter) Landers.
Sue was a 1970 graduate of Crestline High School and Pioneer JVS. She earned her Bachelor Degree from The Ohio State University in 2001. Sue was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Crestline and belonged to the Mary Martha Circle at church. She worked for 20 years at Dr. Scott Wilging’s office. She was a former member and volunteer at the Richland County Museum.
She married Scott Burns on October 20, 1979 and he survives her. She also is survived by a brother, Jeff Landers of Crestline; sister, Traci and her husband, Steve Lykins of Shelby; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and several beloved pets.
Friends and family may visit from 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 N. Thoman St. with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Friends may also visit at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County or Trinity Lutheran Church.
