Ronald was a 1959 graduate of Madison High School and was a member of First Christian Church. He was a factory worker at both Westinghouse and Quanex in Shelby. A baseball player himself, Ronald was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, having season tickets every year. He was a part of several bowling leagues at Village Lanes Bowling Alley, almost reaching the perfect 300 game with a personal best of 299. He was a member of the Boy Scouts having obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. A truly unique person, Ronald enjoyed his Lionel train collection, collecting coins, watching old movies, and listening to classic country music.
He is survived by his children, Julie Selby of Shiloh and Jackie (James) Steele and Ronald Selby, both of Mansfield; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Linda Wetzel. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family service will be held at a later date. A Celebration gathering for family and friends will be from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the VFW Post 3494, 853 Ashland Road, Mansfield.
