

He was a loyal son and brother, as well as a kind, loving husband and father. Rodney cherished his family and each of them knew how much he loved them. He was very outgoing, making friends wherever he went. He led by example and was a hard working man, dedicating to completing any job put before him well. Rodney was employed at GE Critical Power.
In his spare time, he could be found enjoying the great outdoors while fishing or boating. Watching fireworks on the Fourth of July (or any other time) was a favorite pastime. Rodney most enjoyed traveling with his family. A technology enthusiast, he kept up with all the latest innovations. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Teresa Hoover Herndon; children, Nicole, Colin and Kyle; parents, Ronald and Linda Herndon; sister, LaRonda (Bryan) Birmelin; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frank and Helen Hoover; two nephews, Seth and Caleb Grant; a niece, Bryonna Birmelin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service conducted by Rev. Larry Collins will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
