Bob graduated from Union High School in 1941, and was a member of the U.S. Naval Air Corp V-5 Cadet Program from 1943 to 1946. He married his soul mate, Beverly June Moss, on August 5, 1945 and they shared over 70 years of love until her death on February 5, 2016. He began his working career at Wagner Hardware Company on July 9, 1946, where he worked as a sales trainee. He was eventually assigned his own territory as a salesman. Bob developed long-held friendships with his customers and he retired on July 9, 1999 after 53 years of service. Bob served on the Board of Directors at Wagner Hardware for 35 years. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Richland Rural Life Center for 10 years.
Bob was a friendly person and enjoyed being a member of the Retman's Club and the Mansfield Liederkranz. He played golf at numerous courses across mid Ohio and played on the course at his time share in Lake Lure, North Carolina every year. His family joined him on many of these outings and they made fond memories they will continue to cherish. In addition to playing cards with his friends at the Retman Club, he enjoyed playing Euchre with any willing partners he could find. Whether he was tending to his yard, watching Cleveland Indians baseball, OSU Buckeye football and basketball or simply listening to his Oldie's music, Bob was content with his life. Bob's life was greatly enriched by the care he received at Primrose Retirement Community. He leaves a legacy of a strong work ethic, enthusiasm for life and unconditional love for his family as an example to others.
Bob is survived by his children, Terry Weaver of Denver, CO, Bob (Nancy) Weaver of Columbus, OH, Sandra Weaver of Mansfield, and Kim (Mark) Lawrence of Buford, GA; two grandchildren, Meagan Weaver (Justin) Schreffler of Murfreesboro, TN and Katie Weaver of Columbus; a great-grandson, Hudson James Schreffler; a sister, Maxine Weaver Estep; five nieces; one nephew; and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
