Robert ''Mike'' Morant

Robert L. ''Mike'' Morant, 64, of Mansfield, Ohio died January 19, 2001 at MedCentral Mansfield after a brief illness. He was born August 5, 1936 in Columbus, Mississippi to Leon and Georgia Stewart Morant. Mr. Morant retired after 16 years of service with The Ohio Brass Company. He attended the Mt. Zion Church in Columbus, Mississippi and was a member of The Masonic Lodge and the Richland County Golf Association. Mr. Morant had a great deal of interest in the game of golf. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Morant is survived by his wife of 37 years, Leda Summers Morant of Mansfield; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert & Shana Morant and Mark C. Morant all of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa & A. Lamont Benson and Soni R. Collins all of Mansfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Megan, Shante, Maya, Taylor, Devyn, Donovyn, B.J. and Jade; several brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert Morant of Macon, Mississippi, Charles Morant of Mansfield, Ohio, Eddie & Eula Morant of Charolette, N.C. and John & Alberta Morant of Anderson, IN; sisters, Stella Harris of Columbus, Mississippi and Ruth & Chevez Garner of Kansas City, Kansas; special nephew, Donald Bucher; nieces, Brenda Bucher and Sandra Powell; a host of nieces and nephews; a cousin, Dicey Lewis; and an aunt, Sally Jane Ivy of Columbus, Mississippi. Mr. Morant was preceded in death by his parents, Leon & Georgia Morant; brothers and sisters, Hughle Morant, Eddie Morant, Leon Morant and Annie Viola Morant.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Monday, January 22, 2001 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Rev.
