Robert Ling, 80, of Mansfield died Thursday afternoon, August 8, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Ling was born January 13, 1922 in Mansfield and was a lifelong resident. He retired from Westinghouse after 38 years where he worked in the enamel plant. Robert was a veteran of the Army Air Corps serving during WWII.
He is survived by a sister, Helen Givens of Chattanooga, Tennessee; ten nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law and their spouses, Andy and Lois Urban of Mansfield and Charlie and Renee Urban of North Olmstead, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie, daughter, Sherrie, his father, Ira Ling, his mother, Irene Long Hunt and sister, Margaret.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to funeral services that will be held Monday, August 12 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Christopher Thomas will conduct services. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
