Robert G. Bobst Sr., 92, of Lexington, OH died February 9, 2014. Born June 30, 1921 in Columbus, OH he was the son of Glenn and Della (Hamler) Bobst. Robert was an Army Air Corps Veteran in World War II. He retired as a supervisor at Westinghouse after 37 years. Robert lived most of his life in Mansfield, returning in 2005 from Florida where he spent 20 years after his retirement enjoying the sun and beach.
Surviving are his sons, Robert (Louise) Bobst Jr. and Gary (Sue) Bobst, both of Mansfield; daughter, Mary Kay (Gary) Wassmuth of New Albany; seven grandchildren, Linda Bobst, Rick Bobst, Scott (Gretchen) Bobst, Michele (Brian) Giess, Christopher (Jen) Bobst, Andrew Slaton, and Ben (Val) Slaton; and six great grandchildren, Hayley Slaton, Lauren Slaton, Evan Slaton, Brockton Slaton, Chloe Slaton, and Julian Bobst.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret P. Bobst and his parents.
A private graveside service, officiated by Rev. Dr. David Aune, will be held at Mound View Cemetery in Mt. Vernon at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 106 W. Main Street, Lucas, OH 44843.
