Rilda Weeks

Rilda Carolyn Weeks, age 75, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 16, 2012 after a short illness. She was born February 18, 1937 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Leonard and Rilda (Gentry) Rauscher.

She was graduated from Bosse High School in 1955 and Capital University in 1958. Carolyn worked as a primary grade school teacher and Director at the First English Lutheran Christian Day School for a number of years. She retired from the Madison School District. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Friends and Flowers Garden Club and the Mansfield Chapter of A.A.U.W.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Lowell Holsinger Weeks; children, Sarilda (Michael) Tackett of Jackson, MI, Andrew (Bernadette) Schneider of Great Mills, MD, and Martha (Nick) DeMiro of Rochester Hills, MI; nine grandchildren, Jessica Tackett, Betsy Tackett, Caroline Tackett, Dorothy Tackett, Steven Schneider, Zach Schneider, Nicholas DeMiro, Kayla DeMiro, and Hannah DeMiro; cousins, Gloria Hitchcock and Beth Benjamin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lynn Alan Schneider; parents; and sisters, Esther Buttrum, Grace Henze and Doris Julian.

Friends and family may visit from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in First English Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Larson officiating. Burial will be in Locust Hill Cemetery, Evansville, Indiana. Contributions in memory of Carolyn may be made to First English Lutheran Church, Christian Day School Playground Fund.
