Richard Ernest Holland, 74, of Bellville, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 28, 2020, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born March 22, 1946, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Carey Ernest and Bonnie Ellen (Potts) Holland.
He began his working career at Firestone in Akron and then worked at General Tire in Mount Vernon, Illinois for 25 years. After that, he worked as a supervisor for Ford Motor Company, retiring after 12 years of service. Although he was hard working, Richard enjoyed the quiet of being outside in nature, hunting and gardening. He was an avid sports fan but especially enjoyed football, following The Ohio State Buckeyes faithfully.
Richard is survived by his wife, Lori of Lexington; five children, Julie (Bruce) Brown, Richard T. Holland, David (Michelle) Holland, Gregory Holland, and Stephanie (Jarrod) Moore; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Madison, Olive, Milla, Abigail and Caitlyn; a sister, Delores Holland; two brothers, Donald and Curt Holland; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Holland.
A memorial service will be held at a future date at Heart of the Shepherd Lutheran Church in Howell, Michigan. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
