Pete L. Crane, 58, of Mansfield, died early Sunday morning, October 12, 2014 at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born August 15, 1956, in Mansfield, Ohio to Beverly (Simon) and William R. Crane.
Pete was employed as a roll form operator with Newman Technologies for 20 years. Prior to this, he worked for 13 years at Westinghouse Corp. He was a muscle car enthusiast, even racing for a few years. Pete enjoyed helping his sons work on cars. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and NASCAR, with Dale Jarrett being his favorite driver. Listening to the band, Journey was a favorite pastime.
Pete LOVED pumpkin pie and he looked forward to the Thanksgiving holiday every year where he could indulge his sweet tooth. Sitting outside watching the stars was a relaxing hobby. A patient man who was an excellent role model, he would drop everything to help his children. His legacy will be forever remembered and treasured.
Pete is survived by his wife, Lisa Crane, whom he married April 30, 1990; five children, Dustin, Chris, Courtney, Elisha and Emily Crane; two grandchildren, Alexander and Hannah; father, William R. Crane; and five brothers and sisters, Billy and Mike Crane, Vicki Barth, Paula Keeton and Toni Barker. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Crane.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014 in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the future education of his grandchildren.
