Penelope "Penny" Koch, 72, of Ashland, peacefully passed away Wednesday morning, November 15, 2017, at The Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 26, 1945, in Ashland, Ohio, to the late Elden J. and Ruth I. (Imhoff) Kirkpatrick Sr. Penny was raised by her mother and step father, Gerald L. Mercer and lived in Ashland most of her life.
She is survived by her four children, Lori (Brian) Light of Mantua, Tim (Dodie) Koch of Sandpoint, Idaho, Steve (Christina) Koch of Ashland, and Jennifer (Dave) Zielinski of Shalersville, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Penny is preceded in death by a brother, Elden J. "Butch" Kirkpatrick, Jr.; and grandson, Daniel.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church, 1425 King Road, Ashland. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
