Paul L. Martz, 85, of Mansfield, died Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Lexington Court Care Center. Born March 2, 1923, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Leroy and Weissie Martz. Paul was formerly employed at General Motors as a tool and die maker. He enjoyed traveling and wintering in South Carolina. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Paul served during WWII, earning a Purple Heart for injuries incurred during battle.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marjorie Price Martz; four children all of Mansfield, Dr. Bryan Jodi Martz, Debbie Jim George, Sheila Zinser, and Rodeen Richard Vance; fourteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Madelyn Leo Garlena of PA and Helen Sam Brown of Reva, VA; and several nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.
