Oscar W. Perry, 90, of Ontario died Monday morning, September 2, 2002, at Galion Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Perry was born July 24, 1912 in Clearfield, Kentucky living in the Galion area since 1923. He retired from Dresser in 1977 after 15 years. He was also employed with Humphries Manufacturing for 33 years. Mr. Perry was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church. He loved fishing, hunting mushrooms, outdoor activities and especially his family.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Alice & Dennis Bowers of Portage, Michigan and Dorothy Rhodes and her good friend, Tom Mitchell, of Ontario; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale & Norma Perry of Ontario; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ersel Johnson of Shelby. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Dudley & Minnie Alice Gregory Perry; his wife, Margaret J. Hoover Perry; two sons, Donald L. Perry and Wendall Carl Perry; four brothers; and one sister.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. James Winkler. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ontario United Methodist Church.
