Oleeta Margaret Dunlap, 102, of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Mansfield Memorial Homes. Oleeta was born on March 30, 1916 in Painters Branch, Kentucky, the daughter of John C. and Maude (Sargent) McClurg.
A devoted mother and grandmother, family was very important to Oleeta. She had lived in Arizona for the last 30 years. She was a long time member of First Church of the Open Bible and current member of Diamond Hill Cathedral and New Life Assembly in Mesa, Arizona. Cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and quilting were some of the things that Oleeta loved to do. She was an avid blue ribbon winner at area fairs for her award winning pies and her quilting which was a labor of love to Oleeta. She was very giving and generous, many times hosting visiting ministers at her home.
Oleeta is survived by her children, Barbara Jean (Rev. Gaylin) Anderson of Paola, Kansas, Rev. John (Lou Ann) Owens Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky, Brenda Lee (Rev. Charles) Rainwater of Buckeye, Arizona, and Andrea Sue (Rev. Mel) Schroeder of Mansfield; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, Charles Russell Yerian; second husband, John Owens Sr.; third husband, Ralph L. Dunlap; son, Edmund Russell Yerian; brothers, Cecil David McClurg and Woodrow Wilson McClurg; and her sisters, Loretta Veray Mitchell and Pat Griffith.
Family and friends may visit from 9:00-11:00 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, and will be officiated by Rev. John Owens Jr., Rev. Charles Rainwater, and Rev. Mel Schroeder. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Life Outreach International designated to Water for Life at PO Box 982000 Ft. Worth, Texas 76182. Oleeta was very giving, and this ministry was dear to her heart as she supported it faithfully during her life.
