Nancy J. Duncan, 84, of Shelby, passed away early Thursday morning, July 9, 2015, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born August 27, 1930, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to the late Marcellus L. Haupt and Flora Mae (Coover) Haupt. She was brought to Ohio at the age of 2 and raised by her aunt and uncle, Sadie and Franklin Haupt.
Nancy was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ. In her free time, Nancy enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. An avid sports fan, she most enjoyed the Cleveland Indians, NASCAR, and watching football on television.
She is survived by six children, Ruth Russell of Mansfield, OH, Eugene Duncan of San Diego, CA, Catherine (Lawrence) Hull of Lexington, OH, Lynn (Cheri) Duncan of St. Clair Shores, MI, Donald Duncan of Taylor, MI and Linda (Greg) Wallen of Shelby, OH; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, William Haupt of Roanoke, VA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Duncan, Jr. in 1980, whom she married June 20, 1948; son, David Duncan in 1998; four brothers, Francis in 1993, Norman in 2004, Clyde in 2009, and infant brother, John Henry in 1923; and three sisters, Gertrude in 1976, Ioda in 2011 and Annabelle in 2012.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015, in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. Pastor Matthew Pond will conduct the service which follows at 2:00 p.m Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
