Born April 24, 1931 in Mansfield, he was the son of Michael J. Scodova, II and Katherine (Stirtzinger) Scodova. A veteran of the United States Army, he was stationed in Berlin, Germany as a Tank Commander. He retired from General Motors in 1988 following 32 years of service and attended the Apostolic Christian Church. He was a former member of the American Legion and was a member of the Amvets. He was an avid Ohio State fan and loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Bogner) Scodova whom he married October 1, 1956; a son, Michael “Mickey” Scodova, IV of Mansfield; a daughter, Marcia (Chris) Sanna of Milton, GA; grandchildren, Nicole, Taylor, Hunter and Autumn; a great granddaughter, Ryan Marie; two brothers, Richard (Marge) Scodova of Bellville and Robert Scodova of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Kay Scodova of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Scodova and two sisters-in-law, Marge Scodova and Norma Bogner Clem.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Marc Contrascere. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.
