He retired in 2017 from Gorman-Rupp after 37 years of service. Michael was a longtime member of F.O.E. Aerie #336 and the Mansfield Owls Club. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and visiting Lake Erie often. A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, he enjoyed every moment spent with his family and friends. He was especially close to his grandson, Lance. He loved spending time in his "man cave" created for him by Lance. Their relationship was one of his most cherished. He also had a special place in his heart for his grand-dog, Kimber.
Michael leaves behind a family who treasured him, including his daughter, Amanda (Kevin) Heinberger of Mansfield; two grandchildren, Lance Heinberger and Alexis Heinberger; long-time girlfriend, Cindy Heinberger; daughter, Lisa Shenk; two grandchildren, Allison Brown and Sam Shenk; great-grandson, Blaise; three sisters, Francis (Bill) Nichols, Elma (Jim) Hannah and Margaret (Arch) Rush; a brother, Arthur (Kathy) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Rebecca Price Brown; and two brothers, Elwood Brown and Porter Brown.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Adhering to the safety protocols for Covid-19 prevention and governor mandates, all guests are required to wear masks and maintain appropriate social distancing. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
