Mary was born on January 19, 1924 in Austin, Texas. She was the daughter of Peter and Catherine (Gonzales) Salas. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary’s life was centered around her family. She cherished each and every one of them. She babysat her great-grandchildren until they went to school. She shared stuffed animals with the grandchildren when they came to visit her. Mary was an excellent cook and her granddaughter believes that she made the very best pancakes in the world. Everyone looked forward to her amazing enchiladas that she always brought to family picnics.
Mary leaves behind her children, Ron Gonzales and Rose Mary (Mike) Mabry; her grandchildren, Pam Mabry, Christy Mabry, Kat Gonzales, Jeana (Mike) Groshan, Cleo Gonzales, and Jesse (Rebecca) Reed; her great-grandchildren, Ally Becthel, and Ashleigh Bechtel; her great-great-grandchildren, Brantley Gonzales, Nova Reed, Thea Reed, and Logan Groshan; and her siblings, Henry Gonzales, Helen Soria, and Josie (Jim) Hardgrove.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anacleto Ramirez; her son, Richard Gonzales; and her siblings, Lalo, Joe, Jesse, Alvin, and Gloria.
There will be no public services observed. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
