Martha J. Duncan, 80, of Mansfield, passed away early Thursday morning, June 2, 2016, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born February 6, 1936, in Liberty Township, Ohio, to the late Irvin Edward Winegardner and Rose Adelaide (Browning) Winegardner.
Martha's friendly and outgoing demeanor was a perfect fit for her job at Burger King. She enjoyed meeting and greeting the many patrons over the years. She was a long time member of KOPS and TOPS. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and scrap booking, sharing many of her creations with family and friends. She could often be found playing her favorite game, BINGO, which allowed her to be a bit competitive and visit with her many friends.
Her loving, caring, and giving spirit will live on in the hearts of her family. Martha was a treasured mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that will never be forgotten.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Cathrine) Duncan of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Jessica, Michael and Ashley, all of Mansfield; four great-grandchildren, Donovan, Daisy, Christopher and Anthony; a nephew, Justin (Lisa) Duncan; a great-niece, Madaline Duncan; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Duncan, whom passed away on January 28, 2012; parents; brother, Leroy Winegardner; and nephew, Howard Winegardner.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Christopher Thomas, will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
