He was a member of the Clearfork Wednesday Night Bass Club winning many local tournaments and lunker awards. In addition to fishing, he enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Possum Run, later called The Woods Golf Club in Mansfield for 42 years. An accomplished golfer, Marshall enjoyed competing in scrambles and tournaments throughout the area. Over the course of his life he had seven holes-in-one, including one during a 1964 contest that resulted in a brand new Chevrolet.
