Today we are celebrating the life of a daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend to the people who knew her. Lori Ann Newlon was the beloved daughter of William “Sam” Knight and Retta Knight. She was also the caring sister to Bradley Knight and Bob Knight, as well as Bob’s wife, Shelly Knight. She became the aunt of Daniel Knight and his wife, Stephine, as well as their two girls, Clara and Nina. She was also aunt to Chelsie Watson and her husband Anthony, as well as soon-to-be little Zelda.
Lori also had a family with her husband, Chris Newlon and they had two children together. A daughter, Retta Newlon and a son, Bryce Newlon. She also had children she saw as her own over the years through her children. Some are Ethan Bevington and Debbie Jenkins. When she married Chris, she also became the daughter-in-law of Virginia Yoha and Bernie Yoha. She was also the sister-in-law of Chris’ brothers, Dean, Doug, and Craig Newlon, as well as their spouses, Becky, Karen, and Kelly Newlon. Lori was also the aunt to Lindsey and Kyle Hobbs and their three sons, Trevor, Branton, and Layten. As well as Zach and Skylar Newlon and their daughter, Lochlyn. Then finally, Brittany and Jordan Beans, Hunter Newlon, Ross Newlon, Ryan Newlon, and Alex Newlon.
With Lori’s family growing overtime, she never once had any doubt that she would stop loving them no matter what. This was one of the only qualities Lori had when she was alive. She was the type of person who was kind and loving to strangers, no matter who they were. Even if it were a complete stranger, she would have done her best to make sure that person had a friend that day. Lori was also the person that would find a way to put a smile on your face through the darkest of times. This was one of the qualities most noticed by her best friend, Heather Ritchie, and her children, Lillie, Zion, and Selah.
Even though they were not related in any way, Lori always saw them as her own family. This was the touch Lori had on people. The touch of togetherness, love and joy. Even though she is no longer here, we will still remember her touch whenever she had family and friends over for the holidays and made sure everyone had their fill at dinner. We will remember her touch every time she sat down and told a funny story just to put a big smile on everyone’s face. We will remember her touch every time she sat there and let us vent our woes to her, while she took in every moment just so we could let it all out. Not all memories and stories about Lori may not be brought up today; however, we will all have different memories and stories to tell each other in the future when she is missed. And if you don’t believe it or not, she’ll most likely be righter to listen to them.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902. A service will be held at the funeral home following visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
