Linda L. Dickerson, 61, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Ohio State University Medical Center. Born May 6, 1950 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Harry and Phyllis (Parkinson) Smith. Linda worked as a claims specialist at 1-888-Ohio Comp and was well loved by all that knew her. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and collecting pottery. In her free time, Linda liked tending to her flowers and traveling. Most of all, she loved to spoil her grandchildren and her dogs, Annie and Lucy.
She is survived by her husband, Darwin Dickerson; children, Michael (Tina) Dickerson of Clermont, FL and Vicki Dickerson of Mansfield; grandchildren, Morgan, Krista and Lauren Dickerson and Kiarreden and Traevon Dickerson; brother, David (Dyan) Smith of Mansfield; nieces and nephews, Greg Smith, Nikki Smith, Eric Viall, and Jennifer Mounts, and several great nephews; special sister-in-law, Jaunita Herr; special friends and traveling companions, Rick and Sharon Cicolani; cousin, Virginia McCammon and her children, Dan and Bruce McCammon. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Tevin Dickerson; several aunts and uncles; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clyde and Ruth Dickerson; and cousin, James McCammon.
Friends may call Friday, October 28, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. George Reece. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
