Leslie "Les" Adam Shook, 74, of Crestline, passed away peacefully Monday, December 19, 2016, at his home. He was born May 5, 1942, in Galion, Ohio, to the late Adam Oliver "Ollie" Shook and Dorothy Wirick Shook.
He graduated from Ontario High School in 1961. Les loved his job at PPG Industries and retired in June 2012 after over 50 years of service. He loved the people he worked with and made many wonderful friendships over the years. He also enjoyed farming and gardening. Les was a sports fanatic and could be found cheering on his teams on any given weekend.
Les was a generous man who provided his family with a good life. His loyalty to family and friends was unparalleled. Watching his grandchildren play sports and attending family events were the favorite activities in his life.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn JoAnne Greene Shook; a son, Jeff (Vicki) Shook of Lexington; two daughters, Lisa (David) Beard and Cathy (Roger) Brokaw, both of Ontario; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Joyce (Dale) Kerr of Johnsville, Sue (Dean) Patzer of Galion; many nieces, nephews and other relatives; his entire work family at PPG; and his faithful canine companions, Josie and Izzy.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A memorial service conducted by Celebrant Mark Dettmer will follow at 3:00 p.m.
