Laura Jean Meeker

Jean was born November 24, 1947 in Zanesville, Ohio. She was the daughter of Larry and Rose (Noce) Hannum. She married the love of her life whom she dearly loved, David on April 30, 1988. She treasured her family and cherished the special times they spent together. One of her favorite things was preparing for family gatherings and cooking for her family. Jean retired after 35 years of dedicated service in the housekeeping department from MedCentral Hospital, now known as OhioHealth. She attended Fusion Church. When she could always find time to go shopping as this is one thing she enjoyed.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, David Meeker; her children, Lisa Vandervort and Jannetta Stone; her grandchildren, Brittany Grover, Jeffrey Scarbro, Andrew Stone, and Jenna Scarbro; her step-children, Jeff (Kathy) Beaver, Mike (Sherri) Beaver, Cindy Weller, and Davina (Jim) Tanner; her siblings, Carla Bond, Tim Hannum, Shelly Noce, Kelly Noce, Terry Hannum, Shan Hannum, and Clay (Karen) Hannum; and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her siblings, Vicki Pettry, and Steve Hannum; and her grandson, Jeremy Beaver.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 12:00-1:00 pm at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond St. The memorial service will begin immediately at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be to the family.
