Larry G. Hock, 71, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2018, at Wedgewood Estates following a long illness. He was born December 3, 1946, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Frank George and Helen Marjorie (Myers) Hock.
He graduated from Madison High School in 1964 and held numerous sports records during his high school years. He received his Bachelor Degree from Defiance College and retired from Ontario Schools where he taught DECA. On December 28, 1968, he married Merrilliee Sibbald and they began a wonderful life together. Larry and Merrilliee had lived in Colorado for 12 years after his retirement and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and snowboarding. Boating was also a favorite pastime. Larry enjoyed staying physically fit and working out.
Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Merrilliee Hock; two sons, Christopher (Lori) Hock of Columbus and Jonathon (Michele) Hock of Mansfield; and two granddaughters, Madelyn and Maggie. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Roger Hock; and his beloved Irish setter, Rory.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 W. Cook Rd., Mansfield. A memorial service conducted by Dr. Pentti Maki will follow at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
