Born March 6, 1967, in Mansfield, Ohio, he was the son of Gerald Wayne and Mary Catherine (Patterson) Carpenter. He was a 1987 graduate of Malabar High School. Larry was a ham radio enthusiast and was known widely by his call sign, KD8LSH. A hard worker, he retired after 30 years of service Pinnacle Cleaning Company.
Blessed with the gift of storytelling, Larry would entertain his friends and family often with his variety of stories. In his free time, he could be found fishing, playing video games or embracing his passion for cars. He was a kind and loving man, who was a fantastic son, brother, father and uncle. Larry will be remembered for his smile and hearty laugh.
Larry is survived by his mother, Mary Catherine Carpenter; son, Justin (Demi) Jarvis; a sister, Tammy (Daniel) Schulte; two nieces, Niccole and Brittany Schulte; a great-nephew, Joesseph Schulte; and many aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Wayne Carpenter and grandmother, Verda Burgett.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Diamond, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
