
Judy Mateo Mendiola, 47, of Ashland, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at her residence following an extended illness. Born July 20, 1960, in Tumoning, Guam, she was the daughter of Pedro and Rosario Castro Mateo. She was a member of Victory Chapel in Guam and enjoyed playing cards and family gatherings.
Surviving are her husband, Vincinte D. Mendiola; her mother, Rosario C.M. Cruz; sisters, Cathrine Mark Johnson and Rose William Rose; brothers, Raymond Susan Mateo, Paul Jocyln Mateo of Guam, Joseph Mateo of N. Baltimore, MD, Donald Jennifer Mateo, Franklin Monica Mateo, Allan Cil Mateo, Francis Mateo of Connecticut, Nickolas Mateo and his fiancée Samantha Oetjen and Jesse Mateo and his fiancée Amanda James; numerous nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Rosa L. Diaz of Guam; sisters-in-law, Rose Ener Yandan of the Philippines, Gloria Bavaria, Marie Mendiola and Eleanor Mendiola all of Guam; and brothers-in-law, John Claire Mendiola of Texas, Peter Mellisa Mendiola, Joseph Mendiola, Edward Mendiola and Michael Mendiola all of Guam. She was preceded in death by her father, Pedro Mateo; father-in-law, Vincente C. Mendiola; and her first husband, Frank Ulep.
A gathering for family and friends in Judy's honor will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2007, at the home of Frank and Monica Mateo, 558 Bank Street, Ashland. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
