
Joyce Ann Phillips, 69, of Mansfield, died Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born July 24, 1936, in Butler, she was the daughter of Andrew and Maudie Lape Oswalt. She was a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #8586 in Perrysville and was employed as a private house cleaner. Joyce loved gardening, the outdoors, and being with her friends and family.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond Oswalt of Mansfield, Rodney 'Nubs' Phillips of Butler; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Jeff Hicks of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Brandon Oswalt, Sarha Joe Griesbach, Kristi Jo Phillips Crowe, Tabitha Phillips, Kimberly Joe Cantlebury, Katherine Phillips, Rebecca Phillips, Emily Phillips; six great-grandchildren, Brianna Vasquez, Jordan Vasquez, Colton Cantlebury, Melissa Akins, Sierra Lykins, and Justice Phillips; three sisters, Donna Arnholt, Marian Eilenfeld, and Roxanna Fowler; and three brothers, Robert Jean Oswalt, John Joanne Oswalt, Eugene Barb Oswalt. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, John Phillips, sister, Freda Lifer, and brother, William Oswalt.
Friends may call Thursday, February 23, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday, February 24 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Friday at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. Andrew Angel. Burial will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
