John 'Jack' Lyons, 79, of 943 Curtis Drive died unexpectedly at home Saturday, April 14, 2001. Mr. Lyons was born April 16, 1921 in Mansfield, Ohio. He worked at Tappans, Therm-O-Disc, and was former owner/operator of the Lyons Den. Mr. Lyons attended Crossroads Community Church and was a member of American Legion and Amvets on Fourth Street. He was a veteran of WWII serving as a bombardier in the U.S. Army Air Force.
He is survived by a son, John W. Lyons of Mansfield; a grandson and his spouse, Nathan & Tami Lyons of Columbus; two nieces; and lifelong friend, Earle 'Shad' Massa of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Lulu Lyons; his wife, Ursula Brosius Lyons; and four sisters.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Crossroads Community Church.
