Jo-Ann Hall, 75, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield surrounded by her family. Born September 24, 1936 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of James and Ruth (Long) Harris. A 1954 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, Jo-Ann was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She had worked at Mansfield General Emergency Room as a secretary, Mansfield City Water Department, and the Richland County Treasurers Office. Jo-Ann also volunteered at the MedCentral and Samaritan Regional Health Systems gift shops. She was a member of the MedCentral Auxiliary, Eastern Star Ruth Chapter #17, and White Shrine and had been active with the Democratic Party. Jo-Ann enjoyed golf, gardening, shopping, and travel. But most of all she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Terry Hall of Toledo, Tracy (Michael) Showecker and Shelly (David “Curly”) Crace, both of Mansfield; grandchildren, Meagan Carpenter and Kelli Carpenter (fiancé, Kyle Fowler Mitchell); great granddaughters, Kaylynn Carpenter and Makiah Thomas; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and several close friends whom she cherished. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Hall.
Friends may call Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Dr. Pentti Maki. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
