Jessie R. Murphy, 83, of Lexington Court Care Center died Sunday May 26, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield following an extended illness. Mrs. Murphy was born October 25, 1918 in Leetsdale, Pennsylvania residing in the Mansfield area for the past 43 years. She retired from Peoples Federal Bank as a secretary and was a member of the First Congregational Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol M. Poe of Mechanicsville, Maryland and Cathy L. Harmon of LaPine, Oregon; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Annie Gardiner Reed; her husband, Carl R. Murphy in 1993; one brother and one sister.
Though there will be no calling hours or funerals services, Ms. Murphy's wishes were that she be inurned in the Chapel Columbarium of the First Congregational Church. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
