Janet was a quiet but very independent woman with a love for horses and an avid photographer. She was a life long member of First English Lutheran Church, and a volunteer at Gorman Nature Center. Janet worked as an operating room nurse for 35 years at Mansfield General Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Betsy Groff; a brother, Walter Kautz; a grandson, James Barker; and three nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at First English Lutheran Church, 53 Park Ave. West Mansfield, OH 44902. There will be visitation a hour before the service at 3:00 p.m. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Swartz family.
