Jack "Midge" V. See, 81, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday evening, April 6, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 26, 1934, in Louisa, Kentucky, one of eleven children of the late Jack G. and Nancy Ann (Vaughn) See.
He moved to Mansfield in 1949 and married Velma Loraine Bond on July 25, 1953. He began his truck driving career at Purdy's Construction and retired from the Teamsters Local #40. Jack was very intelligent and adept at fixing anything - if he couldn't fix it, no one could. He enjoyed woodworking, Bluegrass music and working on his computer. Jack was an extremely generous man, willing to help anyone, and enjoyed meeting new people. As far as he was concerned, no one was a stranger. Jack was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and leaves a legacy of love to be treasured by all.
He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Loraine See; six children, James M. (Sharon) See Sr., Jack W. See, Stephen G. See, Darrell E. (Leona) See, Carla J. (Fred) Blackwell and Jeffrey R. (Sheri) See; ten grandchildren, James (Kim) See Jr., Jerry (April) See, Krista (Claus) Fairchild, Mindi (Fred) Reiter, Tonya (Joey) Gerich, Dennis (Shannon) Cooper, Mallory (Shane) Henry, Natasha (Jeremy) Cooper, Janene (Andy) Smith and Amanda (Chad) Miller; twenty-two great-grandchildren; four brothers, George (Phyllis) See, his twin brother, Herman See, Wesley (Juanita) See and Jimmy (Linda) See; "bestest" buddy, Doug (Penny) Caudill; numerous nieces and nephews; and special family members, Dianna See and Rick (Donna) Bond.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee, Wayne and Bobby Ray See; and three sisters, Hazel Perry, Martha Crank and Mary Sue Paul.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Ted Risner officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
