Gatha Mae Cockrell

Gatha Mae Cockrell, 76, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born in Reform, Alabama on September 10, 1946 to the late Henry and Hazel (Smart) Minard.

Gatha was known to be a very private person. She was a great cook and baker; red velvet cake was her favorite. She loved to watch TV, especially soap operas.

Gatha is survived by her children, Dennis (Pam) Minard, John Trevis Cockrell, Doug Cockrell and Michael (Yolanda) Cockrell; siblings, Marshall (Gale) Minard, Clarence (Sarah) Minard, Mildred Minard, Bobby (Marilyn) Minard and Ricky (Kimberly) Minard; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James “Bozo” Otis Minard and son, Torrey Cockrell.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Wappner Cremation Center, 1327 Ashland Road, Mansfield, Ohio.
