Fred Dalton Jr., 79, of Mansfield, died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at his residence. He was born January 10, 1928 in Kenova, West Virginia to the late Fred and Pearl Lykins Dalton Sr., and had resided in the Mansfield area most of his life. Fred was a retired engineer with Republic Steel Railroad. Fred enjoyed playing and singing country music.
Surviving are four sons and one daughter-in-law; William F. 'Bill' Dalton of Mansfield, Ronald R. 'Hoppy' Ann Dalton of Boynton Beach, Florida, Mark S. Dalton of Mansfield, and Daniel E. 'Rick' Dalton of Mount Gilead; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darcel L. Mike Galliher of Mansfield, and Robin Danny Hughes of Ducktown, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Larry and his wife Christine Pennywitt, Matthew Dalton, and Cassie Hughes; three great-grandchildren, Larry, Kane, and Luke; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles R. 'Dick' Sharon Dalton of Ashland, Ohio; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy Arnett of Willard, and Linda and John Ashenbrenner of Cleveland, Tennessee; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceding Fred in death are his parents, and one sister, Midge Gircsis.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Thursday January 18, 2007 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, prior to the funeral services. Funeral Services will take place at the funeral home at 1:00 PM with Rev. Glenn Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
