She was born and raised in Elyria and graduated from Elyria Catholic High School. She eventually settled in High Point, North Carolina after many years of wandering. In 2009, she came to live in Ashland to be near her family. Emma had worked at a variety of places throughout her career, including Ashland Chemical, Nova Golf Course, as a home health aide, and in medical billing. Making friends came easy to Emma and she had many friends everywhere she lived. Her laugh was contagious and you couldn't help but be in a better mood when you were with her. Never one to be shy at all, Emma was elected as 2011 Good Shepherd Senior Fair Queen.
She is survived by two sons, Todd (Heather) Watson and Tom Watson; four grandchildren, Chelsea (Kyle) Edwards, Lucus Watson, Lena Watson, and Casey Watson; and two great-grandchildren, Ella and Alaina Edwards.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gary Kanuch and Robert Paul Kanuch, Sr.; and two sisters, Shirley Schuster and Mary Trumpy.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 21, at 2:00 pm at Hayesville United Methodist Church. Wappner Cremation Center is privileged to serve the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Wappner Cremation Center to help defray funeral costs.
