Emma Jeanne Johnson, 87, of Mansfield, passed away early Saturday morning, February 25, 2017, at The Waterford in Mansfield. She was born August 5, 1929, in Flushing, Michigan, to the late Amasa and May (Hursh) Maxson.
She was a faithful member of Ontario United Methodist Church. Emma was employed as a secretary at Ontario Schools for 25 years.
Emma is survived by three children, Ken (Margie) Johnson of WA, Mark (LuAnne) Johnson of Mansfield, and Jane (Jim) Heydinger of Columbus, OH; nine grandchildren, Libby (Mike) Eckhardt, Zachary (Kirsten) Johnson, Amber (Ross) Michels, Eli (Kimmie) Johnson, Jamie Heydinger, Jillian (Justin) Cullison, Dan (Sarah) Sweet, Jesse (Jen) Sweet and Caitlyn Sweet (Andre Azevedo); ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Norma Gibbs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Johnson and her parents.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Ontario United Methodist Church, 3540 Park Avenue West, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Peg Welch officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Heifer International, One World Avenue, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72202.
