Elise A. Valentine

Elise A. Valentine, 84, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 in Marietta, Ohio. Born April 6, 1935 in Bluffton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Frank Edgar and Beulah (Augsburger) Chamberlain.

Elise graduated from Ashland College and attended Bowling Green State University where she met and married the love of her life, John M. Valentine. She retired from Ashland City School District following 25 years of service as a Home Economics Teacher. She moved to Daytona Beach Shores, Florida in 1990 having resided there for 20 years. While in Florida, she enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren at the beach. She attended Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland and Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church in Florida.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and James Huggins of Marietta and their children, Christine and Nick; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Amy Valentine of Ashland and their children, Megan, Katie, Scott and John; and her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jim Cline of Hilliard and their children, Spencer and Bailee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Valentine in 2006 and a brother, Frank Chamberlain in 2006.

Private services for the family will be observed Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland.
