Dorothy Dalton

Dorothy R. Dalton, 90, of Mansfield, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Sterling House. Born August 6, 1921 in Dundalk, MD, she was the daughter of John Edward and Ruth Esther (Ellison) Plato. Dorothy worked in customer service for Columbia Gas. A real people person, she enjoyed being around people, talking to them and being a sounding board for them as well. Dorothy also loved walking. She was loved by all, especially her grandchildren who were a big part of her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol (John) Clauss of Mansfield; son, Greg (Vickie) Dalton of Mansfield; grandchildren, Rhett Dalton of Mansfield and Shaun Clauss of Columbus; and nieces and nephew, Dorothy, Nancy, and Eddie. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Dalton in 1970; sister, Melba Jenkins; and brother, Edward “Bud” Plato.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Dorothy R. Dalton.
